It is quite painful. I got my front helix done, which isnt the usual cartilage piercing. Its thicker, therefor more painful of a healing process. My piercer warned me before I got it done that it would feel like I got hit in the head with a baseball bat. I wouldnt say it is quite that painful, but it does still hurt. I never realized how much your ear moves when you eat & smile! 

& yes, I now have 11 piercings in total. 7 in my ears, my dermals, & my nipples. Ive also had my lip & monroe & a bazillion more in my ears. But this is by far the most painful.
